It's Been Too Long!

We've truly had a busy past 2-3 weeks!  Our online NSD Crop event was a complete blast!  We'd like to thank (AGAIN) our wonderful volunteers that made it one of the best crops ever!

There were Fast Scraps, Challenges and crazy fun games.  Projects were completed and tons of inspiration gained.  We can't wait until our next NSD Event!

We always love this time of year.  There's so much going on and plenty more just over the horizon with CHA Summer 2013!  We can't believe it's a bit over two months away!  Where does the time go?  It'll be great to see all of the newest must-haves as well as catch up with some great friends in the industry.

I mostly create: 12 x 12 layouts. There are times I try to get creative and altar things like bird houses and make mini albums.

Guilty pleasure: I'm a embellishment hoarder. I have a huge peg board loaded with embellishments and can't seem to have enough of them. Not only is my peg board full but I have drawers and containers full too. 

My scrap area is slowly inching it's way into my daycare. Another Love I have is bargain shopping for anything that I can add to my scrap area.

BIO:   I found the love of scrapbooking just a few short years ago. I was planning my Halloween Wedding in 2009 and  wanted to learn how to scrapbook so I could make a wedding album. So off to my local scrap store I went. I joined in on a crop they were having. I will never forget going to that crop. I walked in with plastic bags of what little scrapping supplies I had purchased.  By the time I left I knew I would not go to another crop empty handed again.  It didn't take me long to start buying online.

How To Make A Cupcake Treat Box

Here in Saginaw, Michigan - we have a lot of little specialty bake shops!  We love those little carry containers used to hold things like muffins or cupcakes! 

Laura shows us how we can make our own personalized take out boxes using the Scor-Pal and papers from My Mind's Eye.

Along with some basics like scissors and adhesives, you'll need the following to start this project:

Lime Twist patterned paper by My Mind's Eye
Stickers
Scor-Pal
Baker's Twine

Laura used this cute elongated Chinese take-out 'type' box as inspiration and as a pattern:

Carefully take the box apart and trace the shape onto the back of your patterned paper.  You'll need to then cut out the shape and score and fold where necessary.  Using a scoring board like the Scor-Pal here is incredibly helpful to ensure your folds are crisp and your box ends up looking...well, like a box!

If you don't have a box in hand to use as a pattern, there are tons of free printable box templates available online.  Just use your browser to find the size and shape that's perfect for your project.

You'll end up with something that looks like this:

Laura used some baker's twine along with a punched out circle shape of Kraft Paper and added a cute sticker.  She created a matching card to complete the treat box project.  This is really perfect as a teacher gift, coworker's birthday or a housewarming gift!  You just have to decide how you're going to fill it!

BIO:  I am a French speaking Canadian (also fluent in English), I live on the east coast in New Brunswick with my hubby of 11 years and our sons Gabriel (10) and Félix (8). I work part time as a nurse in an out patient clinic ( I mostly assist in minor surgeries).

I have been a scrapbooker since 2002 and totally love it!  I have had the pleasure of being a member of a few design teams such as Pebbles Inc, Creative Memories, Imaginisce and Nikki Sivils Scrapbooker.
