Favorite Color: Shades of Teal because it reminds me of the ocean.

My craft supply 'must have': Lately, my 'must have' items are diecuts. I love the packages of matching diecuts which go along with the theme of the line.

I mostly create: 12x12 layouts for my grandkids and also of our vacations. We love traveling and I love reliving the moments by scrapping the photos.

Guilty pleasure: Chocolate! I don't have it very often these days, but I enjoy it when I do.

BIO: I married my high school sweetheart and we'll be celebrating 38 years in July. We have 3 adult kids and 9 adorable grandkids from 1 to 15 years old. They are just the light of my life and I adore scrapping about them.

I mostly create:  I create paper 12x12 layouts and I enjoy stamping and making cards too.

Guilty pleasure:  Now that I found a few good friends/Cherries to scrap with locally, I enjoy going to crops again!! It’s so FUN!! I love shopping for scrapbook supplies here at ACOT too!!! Right now when all the new CHA  goodies are coming into the store is most exciting!!! Outside of scrapbooking, I love going to the movies, Starbucks coffee, and taking photographs!! 

BIO:  My mother in-law and sister in-law introduced scrapbooking to me in 1995! Thank you!! Thank you!! I have seen many changes over the years in the scrapbook industry from supplies to styles!  I cringe when I think of the photographs I cropped when I first started! EEK! I hope scrapbooking is a hobby that I will  enjoy for many more years!!

A BIG thanks to ACOT for inviting me to be this month’s Guest Designer!!! I’m so looking forward to a FUN month!!! I have some interesting challenges for you all!! Hope you enjoy them!

Bio Bits:  I started scrapping in 2003 when I was between jobs and decided to create a memories album for my grandfather’s 85th birthday.  Back then, scrapping was only an occasional activity but then my interest really took off about two years ago and has grown exponentially since (with no shortage of help from ACOT).  I’m always amazed to look back at some of my first pages to see how vastly different my style is (not to mention the quantity and variety of tools, techniques, and elements I now use).

How To Make A Scrapbook Travel Journal

Just because Summer is over doesn't mean you have to stop traveling!  Many of us choose long weekends in the Fall to recoup at the Lake, visit farmer's markets or hop in the car to chase the sun!

In this week's tutorial, Ashley gives us the 'how-to' of making your own personalized (and incredibly handy) travel journal and scrapbook.

For the cover, Ashley keeps it simple to ensure the journal will withstand duffle bag or luggage treatment.  You can decide to get a little more extravagant once you've tucked everything into the journal and the trip falls under the 'great memory' category.  

Travel journals make it convenient to quickly record moments you don't want to forget.  Jot down a quick story about something funny that happened.  Save tickets to that amusement park you stumbled upon.  Or, tuck in that mini take-out menu of the restaurant that served the best (or worst) pie ever!

Don't forget to pack along adhesive, a great journaling pen and an instant camera!  There's nothing like capturing the memories as they happen.  You'll be thrilled you did!
